About WCTP

WCTP has a mission to empower young people in London's disadvantaged communities by realising their potential through high quality, performing arts programmes, delivered by inspirational coaches. Both founders come from theatre backgrounds and one of them is a fully trained state registered Drama Therapist. We work closely with other local partners, visiting artists and performers.

We deliver drama workshops, holiday programmes, performance projects, including the National Theatre's prestigious Connections Festival and trips to the theatre. We also provide drama therapy interventions in schools.

The White City Youth Theatre runs weekly sessions at the Bush Theatre, while still retaining its close links with the White City Estate.

The safe environment and family atmosphere at WCYT offers vital support and the opportunity to develop enduring and transferable skills which broaden horizons and lead to increased life chances and long-term wellbeing.

We also run a volunteer scheme for our older members, encouraging them to take responsibility and help the younger children whilst equipping them with new skills. We assist and support our members into further education and work opportunities.

Membership of WCYT is free of charge and all our trips to the theatre are fully funded. We use our connections to link our members to other Arts provisions and local partners, thereby enriching our members' experiences and nurturing their enthusiasm for the arts and the cultural opportunities that are available in their city.

The sense of achievement, satisfaction and release gained from the process of making a piece of theatre, and the difference it makes to these young peoples lives, is palpable.

The WCYT plays a very important part in the lives of its members.
